This policy explains what personal data Otto Campers SpA collects when you browse our website, request a quote, book a camper, or contact us, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep it short and in plain language.

1. Who We Are

Otto Campers SpA (RUT 78.356.598-6) is a camper rental company registered in Santiago, Chile, operating hubs in Santiago, San Pedro de Atacama, Puerto Varas, and Punta Arenas. For any privacy matter, write to [email protected].

2. Data We Collect

Only what we need to quote, book, and support your trip.

2.1 Booking and quote data: name, email, phone number, country, travel dates, locations, party size, and any details you include in a request.

2.2 Rental documents: driver licence and passport or ID details of drivers and travellers, required to prepare the rental agreement and border-crossing permits.

2.3 Payment data: payments are processed by Transbank (Webpay), PayPal, or bank transfer providers. We never see or store full card numbers; we keep only confirmation references and amounts.

2.4 Communications: messages you send us by email, contact form, WhatsApp, or social media.

2.5 Technical data: device and usage information collected through cookies, subject to your consent (see section 5).

3. How We Use Your Data

3.1 To prepare quotes, manage bookings, process payments, and provide customer support before, during, and after your rental.

3.2 To prepare legal documents required for your rental (rental agreement, border permits, invoices).

3.3 To follow up on quote requests you started and to send you booking-related notifications.

3.4 To measure and improve our website and advertising, only with your consent.

3.5 To comply with Chilean legal obligations (tax, transport, and tourism regulations).

4. WhatsApp & Messaging

If you message us on WhatsApp, the conversation is stored in our customer system so any team member can help you.

4.1 When you contact us via WhatsApp, we process your phone number, profile name, and message content through the WhatsApp Business Platform (Meta Platforms, Inc.) to reply to you and keep a record of the conversation linked to your booking or quote.

4.2 Messages are stored in our internal management system so we can provide consistent support. We do not use your WhatsApp number for marketing lists without your consent.

4.3 WhatsApp itself processes your messages under Meta's own terms and privacy policy.

5. Cookies & Analytics

Analytics and advertising cookies run only if you accept them. You can change your choice at any time.

5.1 We use a consent banner to ask before loading non-essential cookies. Essential cookies needed for the site to work do not require consent.

5.2 With your consent we use Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads (Google LLC) to understand site usage and measure campaigns, and the Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms, Inc.) to measure our ads on Facebook and Instagram.

5.3 You can change or withdraw your consent at any time via the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer.

7. Data Retention

7.1 Booking and invoicing records are kept for the periods required by Chilean tax and commercial law.

7.2 Quote requests that do not become bookings, and their related conversations, are kept for up to 2 years and then deleted or anonymised.

7.3 Analytics data is retained according to the settings of each tool and your consent.

8. Your Rights

You can ask us what data we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted.

8.1 Under Chilean data protection law (Law 19.628 and its amendments) you may request access to, rectification of, or deletion of your personal data, and object to certain uses.

8.2 If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you also have the rights provided by the GDPR, including data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

8.3 To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We respond within 30 days.

9. Security

9.1 Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored in access-controlled systems. Access to customer data is limited to the Otto Campers team members who need it to do their job.

10. Changes to This Policy

10.1 We may update this policy as our services evolve. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest version. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
